What We Believe

WHAT WE BELIEVE

As members of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, we believe and confess the following to be true:

The Word

This congregation as a body, and all its members as individuals, declare unreserved acceptance of and adherence to all the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired and revealed Word of God,  and all the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, contained in the Book of Concord of year 1580 as the correct presentation and true exposition of Christian doctrine drawn from the Holy Scriptures.

God’s Grace

We believe that God gave his Son to be born of man, to live as man, to be crucified, die, and to be buried to rise again on the 3rd day  to provide God’s grace in the form of forgiveness for sins of all who believe in the Triune God.

God provides means for his grace to be made available to man through Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.  Everyone who comes to the Father must be baptized of water and Spirit.   Then through confirmation of one’s faith through instruction in God’s Law and the Gospel, can then be invited to the Lord’s Supper as a means for the faithful to receive forgiveness of our sins by sharing in Jesus Christ Body and Blood thru the bread and wine.

Confession of Faith

We believe that The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) accepts the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that launched the Lutheran Reformation of the Christian church in the 16th century. We believe that the Lutheran Confessions are the correct interpretation and presentation of biblical doctrine. The Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther can be summed up in three phrases:

With Grace alone.

With Word alone.

With Faith alone.
