It didn’t take long after Jesus’ resurrection and ascension before the teaching and preaching of the early disciples, coupled with the wonders and signs they were performing, left the Jewish authorities angry. The initial arrest of the disciples John and Peter prompted their followers’ prayers that the disciples would be enabled to continue to teach and preach “with all boldness” (Acts 4:29).
