We learn about those who will recline at table in the kingdom of God with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets. They will come from east and west and from north and south; indeed, some who are last will be first, and some who are first will be last. Many will seek to enter, but the door is narrow. Here Jesus teaches about compassion and humility in the context of a Sabbath dinner at the house of a ruler of the Pharisees.
