The Word as seed is explicit in the Old Testament Reading, including the assurance that “it shall not return to me empty” (Is 55:11). The seed parables in Matthew 13 show the temporal and eternal fruit that results in the lives of those who hear and understand the Word. We pray that God’s Word would accomplish this in us as we “read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest” the Scriptures sown in our hearts. Welcome to the Lord’s house this morning!
