This Sunday’s theme focuses on the Word of God. The Introit compares God’s Word to a lamp and light for our darkened way (Ps 119:105). In the Epistle, Paul makes clear that he is a minister making the Word of God fully known, the mystery that is Christ (Col 1:25–29). The Gospel provides the familiar account of Jesus visiting Mary and Martha. Mary chooses the good portion of listening to the Word of Christ (Lk 10:42).
